Telangana employees began war

Work in various government offices in all the 10 Telangana districts was completely paralysed as employees boycotted duties as part of the Sakalajanula Samme which began on Tuesday.
Nearly 25,000 employees in Warangal and 30,000 in Karimnagar boycotted their duties in response to the political JAC's indefinite strike call. The employees staged a dharna in front of the collector office at Warangal and locked the office gates.
Protesting students obstructed Warangal superintendent of police Rajesh Kumar at the Arts College in Hanamkonda. They stopped his vehicle and shouted slogans. The students even refused to give way to his vehicle though the SP had to turn back to his office. They demanded the immediate suspension of DSP Venkata Narsaiah.
Doctors boycotted their duties at MGM Hospital. Doctors association president Nagendrababu said if the Centre does not grant Telangana, they would go ahead with an indefinite strike. "We will attend only emergency services," he threatened. All the employees belonging to revenue, education, I&PR, registration and 50 other department staff joined the mass indefinite strike.
Advocates stayed away from the courts as they took out rally from the Adalat junction to the collector office. Bar association members staged protests in front of revenue offices in Karimnagar district. Employees took out rallies at Karimnagar town, while students boycotted classes and formed a human chain at Kaman chowrasta in the town. TNGOs president Hameed monitored the mass strike in the district.
As part of the agitation lawyers in Nizamabad have decided to stay away from the court for eight days. A majority of the private schools were closed in the town. All the government offices in Adilabad district were closed during the day as all the employees stayed away from their duties.
As part of the strike, all sections of people stayed away from work and raised slogans in support of Telangana as they held sit-ins and other forms of protest. "The employees will not cooperate with the government. The state ministers from Telangana region should also participate in the strike," K Vithal, a leader of Telangana employees union said.
TRS leaders organised road blockades in Siddipet in Medak, Nalgonda and Khammam districts. Former minister Jupalli Krishna Rao and Nagarkurnool MP Manda Janganatham faced the wrath of Palamur students when they came to Mahbubnagar to render support to the JAC employees. The students and JAC leaders demanded Manda to submit his resignation first.
